Hull Healthy Hearts

Welcome to the Hull Healthy Hearts (HHH) Website

HHH is a community based project funded by NHS Hull with the aim to help improve life expectancy in Hull and reduce the life expectancy gap between Hull and the national average for England. 30% of this gap is caused by Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).

HHH offers a free 20 minute Cardiovascular risk assessment to people aged 40-74 which estimates the chances of developing cardiovascular disease within the next ten years.

Hull Healthy Hearts will be going to local businesses, shopping centres and strategic places throughout Hull. HHH has a custom made portable 'booth' which allows easy access to the service in a variety of community settings providing the client with privacy.

The assessments are carried out by specially trained Health Improvement Practitioners (HIP's). People will be given a personalised 'healthy heart' pack. This pack contains results from the assessment and advice on how to reduce their risk of CVD. After each assessment a letter is sent to their GP listing the client's results, providing GP's the option to invite the client for further investigation if necessary.
